A question a sarcastic "expert" asks to make fun of a user rather than helping with the problem.

Hopefully, with IOS9 forecast to be released in September, this thread will draw to a merciful close.

Apple can use the release of 9 to put to bed the wifi issues that plagued IOS8, without them losing too much face.

Quinzico's solution works great for me as well (ios8 on iPhone 5s) with few differences.

First one is that I reset Network Settings instead of All.

However, I have been struggling for a while until I found that after the reset and before the reboot switching off wi-fi is required!

Somehow, it is automatically turned on after Resetting Network Settings even though it is switched off before the reset.

    So, the updated solution is:

    1st - Turn off Wifi

    2nd - goto Settings->General->reset->reset network settings

3rd - Turn off wi-fi (if it is turned on after reset)

4th - After the reset and reboot, turn on the wifi.

    Thanks Quinzico

But I learned it from you, and thanks for another demonstration of you not addressing the problem, you're really good at that.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think it's "firmware."

2 iPhone 5's, updating IOS 8.3 immediately hosed the wifi connection.  Won't accept the password often times.  Only works within about 20 feet of the router.  iPads runnin IOS 8.3 both work fine.  It's a small sample size, but pretty confident there's some problem in IOS 8.3 that's causing the iPhone 5's to not have reliable wifi connection - again, unless within about 20 feet of the router.

And yes, I've tried pretty much all the various alleged fixes, and none have made any difference.  It's bad software, and they should fix it.  I have 2 phone upgrades next month, and frankly considering jumping off the Apple ship to one of the other devices. Can't imagine getting in to another 2 years with a device that can't access wifi.

    Is there a question there?

I'm so sick & tired of this wifi disconnection problem that I regret buying iPhone 6 plus. I tried every trick I read in various blogs without any success whatsoever. I turn on / off wifi not less than half a dozen times a day when I'm at home. I'm hoping against hope that ios9 has a fix which works !

I first tried to reboot my modem, but that did not solve the problem.  Then I tried everything on these boards except for a reinstall.  Then I tried rebooting the modem and the router at the same time.  I pulled the chord on both, turned on the modem and then the router after the modem seemed completely back on.  Then I reset the Wifi Network Settings (again).  >Settings >General >Reset > Reset Network Settings.

It now works, but ominously, the first 2 day dump of e-mails did not finish.  Wifi connection lost.  I clicked on the inbox again and it completed.  More to be seen.

hey guys!! my phone did the same things after downloading the ios update, and i think i fixed it! at least for my phone...i went on settings>general>reset, and then clicked "reset all settings." this caused it to reset all of my settings on my phone including my home background, autocheck, and other things that i had motified but it does not delete any of the data that you have on your phone! after i clicked that, my phone shut off for a few seconds, then came back on. then, when i put in the password after it had restarted, it accepted it!!!! im really glad this happened to me, and i hope this helps anyone else!
