    A solution for me..

Previously I had no password protection on my home network because of where I live.  After putting a password on the network, behold, my iPad 2 stopped the disconnections, at least a 98% stoppage.  That is the only change i made.

    Hello All,

After upgrading my iPad 4 to the latest iOS version 8.3, I was seeing wifi issues. Tried pretty much all the troubleshooting steps that I came across here in the forum and also online but nothing helped. However few days back I disabled Bluetooth & restarted my iPad after that. To my surprise the wifi issues that I have been seeing disappeared :-).

If you guys are seeing wifi issues, try this option & see if that works.

Turning Bluetooth and Airdrop OFF is of help for some and has been well reported here in the past.  See my post on page 167:

Here's a very interesting article that describes the quite technical issues with WiFi and related networking issues that are occurring on both iOS and OS X. It sounds like this information applies to quite a few of the posts here from people having issues, particularly those using non-Airport routers and mixtures of Apple and non-Apple devices connected to their routers:

    http://www.macnn.com/articles/15/05/06/a.widely.reported.bug.in.new.apple.hardwa re.and.software.remains.unfixed.128499/

It won't fix your problems, but at least it gives a good explanation of where and why the issues are happening.

    Yep,

it is funny to see the speed tests of the "AMAZING BRAND NEW IPAD AIR 2" and "the poor old scrappy obsolete malfuctioning Ipad 1" in the same room...
New 0.92 mbs and scrappy 14 mbs.....

    So happy...

So (sorry for my English, I'm Italian)
what worked for me was a router change. (ipad air 2 wifi/cell)
I had an old Huawey and there was simply nothing to do.
It was running smooth just in front of the router but then dropping dramatically in a 3 meters radius. If I eventually inserted a wall in the 3 meters radius (you know rooms have walls) there was simply no way to get a connection. All dropped to 0.0056 mbs and then disconnection and all the stuff you know. (in the meanwhile the glorious Ipad 1 was running like silk)
This morning I tried the air 2 (brand new) on other routers and had sometimes the same crappy result and sometimes amazing speeds at decent distances.
the only common returning fact was that the awful results were all on (old?) routers handling only 802.11b/g.

With 802.11b/g/n I'm having perfect speed tests and everything looks perfect; Of course I need to spend some time on it but for all the week end i never had a connection in my bedroom while now is running at warp speed.
I still think there's a lot of work for apple to fix this stuff and I also think they really should learn to respect their customers because the denial of the problem drove me crazy.

Hope this could help out someone out there, good luck!

So you fixed it with a change of router

    Thanks for letting us know.

I also managed to solve my problems via the router. Unfortunately I don't think I can explain how very well as I don't know much about routers but here is my understanding of how it got fixed.

My router is provided by my phone company, who was able to select another channel remotely. (I wanted to try that myself but had no way to hook up a Mac to it).

Since then, everything has been great, across all devices for all of the last week.

Prior to that, both my iPad 2s had progressively become useless. No Wi-Fi connection and, most of the time, not even able to detect the router. Following all the advice on this thread, I tried everything possible in terms of resetting the network, restoring devices, repeater, everything... The more I did, the worse the problem got - to the point that even 2 Android phones were constantly dropping off the network, requesting passwords.

My understanding is that all the constant log-on attempts were somehow overloading the channel and that by moving to a clean channel this has now been solved. Hope it stays that way.

Hope this helps. Sorry if my explanation makes no sense technically.

I posted a couple of weeks ago and things went from bad to worse.  Like everyone else I tried all the remedies none of which worked, and just seemed to make the problem worse.  Well today I've spent from 9.30 until 2.00 pm on the phone to Apple.  The first conversation taking an hour and 20 mins, then getting call backs etc.  Although at least I was able to get through and actually speak to real people, the must frustrating thing is them trying to tell me none of this was their fault.  I mentioned forums and articles and they just said that with 600 million users the forums would have a lot more posts if it was an Apple problem!  All android products are working and there was no problem with our two ipads until 8.3 was installed.  It is really frustrating when they blame it on the router which works fine for everything else.  Anyway, to cut to the chase, I'm not a techy, but I'll try and relate their solution (having tried all morning and getting told different things) that appears (fingers crossed) to have worked.

    Back up on iTunes.

    Reset ipad to factory settings

    Turn on airplane mode

Close all apps and anything that's open

Unplug router and plug back in

Whilst router is rebooting re-set network settings on ipad

    Turn airplane mode off

Restore as new ipad first (if this fails then set up as restore), their logic for this is if you simply restore then you could be reintroducing the problem.

Something else they hinted at, which a colleague also mentioned, is that when upgrading to any new version of IOS, do it through your laptop/desktop instead of just updating via wifi on the ipad/phone.  The logic seems to be that if there's a glitch, by upgrading on the computer it will wait until the glitch is sorted before upgrading the iphone/pad, whereas doing it direct on the product and via wifi could cause a problem if there's a glitch whilst upgrading.

As said I'm not a techy but I hope it helps.

I Haven't had an issue with wifi completely dropping out, I have had an issue where dataflow has completely stopped but still shows it is connected. This happens with two iPhone 6 pluses and two iPad Air 2's. No other devices have issues with network. And this also happens on a portable wifi device. It is not router, although Apple seem to blame that!

    i Am on a 100Mbps down/40Mbps up NBN connection.

If you talk to apple, mention the re-wrote the piece of networking software in 8.X that makes contact with other devices on your network.

"For 12 years, the mDNSResponder service managed a surprisingly large part of our Mac's networking, and it managed this task well. But as of OS X 10.10, the mDNSResponder has been replaced with discoveryd, which does the same thing."

This article refers to the Mac OS X 10 instance of this software.  The same software is used on ios.

    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/01/why-dns-in-os-x-10-10-is-broken-and-what-yo u-can-do-to-fix-it/

The only surprise would be if there were no bugs.

I was able to come up with a solution that worked for me.

    http://websolutions2.com/ios-8-3-wifi-fix/

Seems after the update the Apple Device will only connect to certain types of wifi connections.

Going to try and downgrade to 8.2 and see how that goes.

It's a good thing we don't need iOS 8.3 on our mission to Mars in order to be able to send a message back to N.A.S.A , to send us more tanks of oxygen.

If such a message was sent  via WiFi, we'd all be " We have to give those people Aiir"

    Hi,

Sorry about my English I speak Spanish.

I have an Iphone 6, and I updated to 8.3. I had a lot of wifi's connection problems.

I do not use Airdrop, so I did this:

    Settings->Restrictions-> (password) and unchecked Airdrop.

Get down in the menu at Game center Options, unchecked Multiplayers game and Add Friends.

After that I haven't got wifi problems anymore.

I hope this can help someone.

The ONLY solution I came up with after many months of frustration is to go out and buy a new router, which is dual-band instead of the single band 2.4Ghz I have that is 5 years. Then the only source that I can connect to with getting "wrong password" is the 5Ghz band.

I hope they is a better solution (a better iOS) soon as this device will be worthless in a few month when I need to travel and log into hotels & friends wifi which likely will not have 5Ghz.
