the new iOS 8.3 - Mail Connection Issues

Since my husband and I updated to the new 8.3 our emails are not working. We get an error message that says:

Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed.

We use Yahoo, Gmail and Outlook. Tried to have a chat with apple this morning however they kept trying to tell me it was my phone...anyone else encountering this issue all the sudden??

I spoke too soon. The problem returned... I've been using iPhones since 2008, never had any problems with this same email account until iOS 8.3, so i just can't believe there is suddenly something wrong with my phone, must be a bug.. The only thing I have not tried is find out if there might be too many emails in my inbox, maybe a timeout occurs for checking these emails and you get the error message when opening the mail app.

I had this problem. My workaround has been to install my Exchange gmail account as a regular gmail account. The only issues is that this is a corporate gmail account, so when I bring in the calendar - I have to make sure that my coworkers calendars are not checked. But it also means I have a way to check their schedules remotely.

Not ideal but a workaround until it is fixed.

Guess how I found this forum!

We migrated mail servers at our office, and now, nobody with iphones running ios8.3 can access their email. The "settings>general>profiles" option has been removed, and no matter what we do, the phones will not recognize our Exchange credentials.

I am yet to see a solution. If I work anything out, I'll post it up.

Don't get too excited when you think the problem is fixed. Ive thought many times I found the magic bullet only to have problems return. It seems things erode over time. All works as it should and then one problem appears and then another and so on until things are so snarled up you have to do something. Reset network settings, restore phone, remove email and replace ,maybe just reboot. There has to be a flaw in iOS 8.3!!

I finally realized it wasn't just me and got inspired to fix because I was trying to send myself a picture. After reading all of these, I tried this and it worked.

I have an Ipad and I use yahoo mail

I went to "Settings"

selected "mail, contacts calendars"

at the very top is a line with a carrot pointing right (hard to see above "add account")

select that. Delete your email account (mine was a yahoo)

Now go back and add the same yahoo account you just deleted.

It worked for me and took a second but then it connected to my current mailbox and I was able to send some photos I took on Ipad via email.

Yeah!!!!!!

i have done that a couple of times. The problem just comes back. My Mail will just hang when trying to send, along with that "can't connect mail server" problem. Just kill the Mail app. I sometimes just hard reboot.

I have been in Safari and trying to email and it will hang. Killing both Mail, Safari will get it working again.

What we need is a nice case action suit.

Apple needs to be forced to make minor updates between IOS combine update releases.
