Remote desktop client update

Software update is telling me that I have an update for this product.

I have no idea whether to install this update and have no use for the remote desktop client.

I cannot find mention of it in my System Preferences and an internet search on the topic is not helpful.

Can I ignore this update?

An attempt to "hide" the update did not work.

Thanks,

Bart

Apple RDC is a thin-net client for Mac, and used by IT folks to "remote" to your desktop so they can see what your doing or fix something directly on your computer. It's built into all Apple OS's since the dawn of mankind. You can ignore the update if you don't use it, it will not affect your computers performance.

the setting for it is under >System Preferences...>Sharing

click "Remote Management" to turn it off/on
