Photos app stuck @ 12%

Mine is stuck at 19% - its taken 5 hours to get to that level - I was trying to import an Aperture Library. I have now had to Force Quit and plan to leave the Aperture Library as it is for now and trying importing only a few photos into a new Photos Library. Frankly this is a mess - I thought it was out of beta. Likewise any ideas would be welcome.

I never got past 1% after an hour. So I just did a Force Quit.

I found that the estimated time to import a new library was quite inaccurate but I also found that in one case I had a problem with my Aperture library. So you might try repairing the Aperture library or the iPhoto library and see if that fixes your import problem.

I Was stuck at 25%. After a few attempts, with it sticking each time, I deleted the new Photos library and opened Aperture. I emptied the Aperture recycle bin and let Aperture rebuild the library as I quit. I then went back and started afresh in Photos. This time it worked fine, importing the 12.5 Gb library in less than an hour.
