Yes, I have this problem, too. If wifi works, than it is very slow. But usually it doesn't work.

And I just wonder... How on Earth I will get a fix (10.10.4 ?), having such huge problems with wifi? This is a pane in the ***.

    This is not acceptable.

Here's the update to my log, got another wifi drop some time overnight: wifi still dropping every 2-3 days. As stated before, I don't use bluetooth, iCloud, or Photos, and the same behavior has been happening with every Yosemite release since late October 2014 on my August 2012-purchased Macbook Air. I recently realized that it probably doesn't have anything to do with my August 2012-purchased Cisco/Linksys EA4500 5GHz router, since when wifi drops, I can't see any of the other 30+ routers in the vicinity:

04.09.2015 at 1:37am starting running and monitoring wifi after update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D131)

04.11.2015 at 8:04pm, after having been out all day, arrive home to find that wifi has dropped.

04.12.2015 at 11:44am after shutting down, then turning on, wifi was back.

04.16.2015 at 6:22pm  (thursday, after having been out of town) arrive back home to find that wifi has dropped.

04.17.2015 at 8:57pm booted into safe mode and wifi was back.

04.17.2015 at 8:59pm booted back into regular mode and wifi was still back.

04.19.2015 at 10:26am awoke to find wifi had dropped.

04.19.2015 at 10:28am shut down, turned on and wifi was back

04.22.2015 at 10:08am awoke to find wifi had dropped.

04.22.2015 at 10:11am  "restart" didn't fix it but shut down did.

Honestly, this is a massive issue that Apple is ignoring. Period!

I don't need a freaking workaround . . . I need Apple to stop whatever b.s. they are up to and fix this!

You go into an Apple retail store and mention this to one of the staff and they look blank. I told the guy to do a google search. He said they will fix it I said well they have had 2 updates and it still, isn't fixed. Yes they are ignoring it and hoping it will go away. Well it won't and neither will we.

I had the problems since Yosemite came out.

Tried all the work arounds, nothing.

The people from apple wireless engineering contacted me and tried many fixes and debug patches, and they DID work in 10.10.2, but after 10.10.3 all failed again.

My conclusion is that the problems is a compatibility issue with old routers. In my house I use a 6th generation Apple Airport Extreme. No problems there, but in my office, the Company has a somewhat old system using B and G technology..

Is anyone having wireless problems using an Apple router?

I have a new Apple, and an old Cisco. Neither cause any issues, all my Macs work fine with them.

Your old Cisco, is it IEEE 802.11a/b/g or IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n ??

ok, that supports the thesis that the problems may be located in compatibility with old routers.

I think its definitely related to Bluetooth and compability with some routers.

I am out in Kabul and so my ability to randomly around the place to check other routers in limited.  However in the house we have a fairly old TP-Link system and in the office building i know its something different..... if i can find the blighter.

In the house, the moment i turn on bluetooth and start to use my magic mouse down goes the connection, or rather no network traffic it stays connected to the Access Point.  In the office no problems with it at all.

As both my old router and my new router work fine I fail to see how you can come to that conclusion from that evidence.

    So we disagree.

did you mean theory when you typed thesis?

I wouldn't say Apple is ignoring it - they have not in fact been ignoring my bug reports: they are responding to my bug reports, and an engineer even called me on the phone about this, in February. What *is* happening is that they have tried and failed to fix it in three updates to Yosemite. Yes, it is infuriating.

Also, I agree with another poster: nobody else at a Apple seems to know (or care) about it: My tech support call to Apple in December: She didn't know about the wifi bug. Walked into the Georgetown Apple store last month: the main customer service guy didn't know about it. Not only did he not know about it, he basically said, "Look, we have a hundred laptops on display here and they all work." The ONLY people who seem to know about it are Apple Wifi Engineering, whoever maintains their bug reporter website, us, and certain websites.

I don't think it can be an "old router" problem: My router is newer than my Macbook Air: My router is August 2012 Cisco/Linksys EA4500 5GHz. Also, when I lose wifi access, I lose it to all 30+ routers my laptop usually sees: it won't see any of those routers, many of which must be quite new....
