Q: Do I have to download ITunes on my computer to let my wife use my old Ipad

I Have given my wife my old IPad, but is only OS5, how do I upgrade it to OS8

    You can't. That's the last version for that model.

     

    See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

    SO in that case she cannot download any Apps then, such as EBay or the like, thanks for your quick reply

    By the way it helps to post in the correct forum  You posted in the forum for a computer's operating system software (nothing to do with iPad) for computers older than 10 years.
