ipod nano 7, not responding. screen is black. tried recharging, tried to restart by pressing on and middle button?

Hi,

IPod Nano Gen 7, xmas present. Was working fine, tried to recharge battery by plugging into PC that my itunes

are on, it ipod seemed fine then i noticed it looked off, tried to recharge on another PC and also by just plugging into a plug. have removed from charging for over 12 hours. have tried to restart by pressing the on botton inconjunction with button under the screen, but can not get it to work

One thing you may want to make sure of is that the Hold switch is in the locked position. Try toggling it to make sure that the switch is unlocked. See this article -
