Are you using iCloud Photo Library with "Optimize Mac Storage" enabled?  Then only the photos have been downloaded to the Mac in full size previews will show in the Media Browser.  See this Support document how to make the photos visible:

Indeed - old photos appear, but the "last import" takes at least a restart of the application(s), or even some more time before they become available in the file selection dialogue bos.

I'm having the same issue. It's been weeks and my "last import" is still not showing up in the media browser in finder. I worried that they didn't fully transfer, but when I go to the Photos app they're all in there safe and sound. I use gmail and blog, and any time I want to share a photo on either one it's a pain.

I am trying to import photos into my wordpress blog using Chrome. I have also tried importing to my WP blog via Safari; same problem.

And exactly what happens after you restart your Mac as I suggested?

No change whatsoever. This has been an ongoing issue for 2 weeks. I restart my computer 1-2 times per day, so it has had plenty of opportunity to refresh.

There is no media browser in the finder and never has been - it is only in all upload/attach/open windows from otters software - if you are not using Safari try it

Sorry, media browser was the wrong term. I meant I tried uploading the file like this: My wordpress site > Clicked "Upload image" in WP's Media area > window pops up asking me to select my photo from my computer > I click "photos" on the left column of hte window to view my images. Some photos I uploaded in the batch I am looking for are there, but many are not showing. I clicked out of Safari (and Chrome) and went to the Photos app. I verified that they are in fact in Photos.

Still, not relevant to solving the Photos problem. I also said I used Safari. Please help keep the thread productive for all readers; diverging the conversation to unrelated topics like the one you raised distracts from solving the problem.

Hi Alex, when this happens to me I've found I have to quit Safari and then restart it and go back to the page where I was trying to upload photos and try again and then I can see my most recent photos in the pictures section of the upload dialogue.  I have no idea why this works and hopefully it will be fixed in upcoming OS X release.  I have not used chrome.
