Hi,
Is it the Retail 10.6 Install Disc, or a gray machine specific one?
Its the retail version, purchased directly from Apple.
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
Then with the Disc inserted, try holding alt key or option key at power on... does that not work also?
Sorry for the delay, time difference and all, I haven't done a PRAM reset so will give that a go and let you know.
As you can probably gather, i am NOT that IT savvy!
No worry, do let us know the outcome. 🙂
Still no joy, its still not reading the disk, just ejecting it.
Any other ideas I could try?
I guess the next thing to try, with about a 10% chance of helping in my experience...
Cheers, will give it a go, thanks for your help.
It may also be that the DVD drive has been acquired by the grim reaper. Any external DVD drive connected via USB will work.
Ciao.
