Can a PowerMac G5 boot from a Dual-Layer DVD?

I wanna install 10.5 on mine. its currently running tiger. its getting really old now. so yeah, can this disk drive boot, or if not even read from a dual layer dvd?

disk drive: SONY DVD RW DW-U10A

PowerMac G5-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 1.6 GHz 2.5gb ram. double 80gb hdds

At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Disc Burning & report what it says, like ...
