Q: Need to replace HD on Macbook early 09

Hi all,

My machine is making some suspect noises and heating up much quicker than usual.

Its an old machine now so I want to treat it to a new HD please can anyone suggest any compatible models?

Also what is better SSD orHD and what RPM speed etc?

Any thoughts would be greatly received.

Definitely install an SSD, makes a world of difference. I've done it to 5 machines so far. Earliest so far 2009 MacBook Unibody.

Started w/ this early 2011 MBP 13" I'm on here; 120 GB SSD and bumped the RAM to 8 GB. Running Mavericks, been avoiding Yosemite seeing the problems around here.

Photoshop CS 6 starts up in 3.4 seconds.
Last week I was working on a client's computer and saw the spinning beach ball. I realized I hadn't seen it in the 6 months since I put in the SSD:

cheers, i was looking at those OWC ones will definitely go one off there. Got yosemite on this now mate- no probs
