Started w/ this early 2011 MBP 13" I'm on here; 120 GB SSD and bumped the RAM to 8 GB. Running Mavericks, been avoiding Yosemite seeing the problems around here.
Photoshop CS 6 starts up in 3.4 seconds.
Last week I was working on a client's computer and saw the spinning beach ball. I realized I hadn't seen it in the 6 months since I put in the SSD:
