high cpu usage for Finder process since 10.10.3

Has anyone else noticed your fan staying on much longer since the 10.10.3 update? I'm seeing the Finder process in Activity Monitor running at around 97% since the update. I have not changed any of my startup apps and am not running Opera, Calendar, and Mail right now.

Specs:

  • MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011)
  • 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7
  • 250 GB SSD
  • 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
  • Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

Thanks for any help or insight.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7 (4 GB)

You have a corrupted file associated with the Finder. It may be:

com.apple.Finder.plist in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.

com.apple.finder cache folder in /Home/Library/Caches/ folder.

Try deleting both items then relaunch the Finder or restart the computer.
