Maintaining play order of genius playlist in a smart playlist

I wanted to edit a genius smart list but was unable to and found a post that said the answer to add additional songs was to create a playlist with songs I wanted to add to genius list. Then create a smart playlist that was a merger of the added songs and the genius playlist. i did that and wanted the genius playlist order to be maintained since it is like a randomized list of artist. however when the smart playlist is created all of the songs are sorted by artist in alphabetical order. is there any way to maintain the order of the two playlists in the merged smart playlist? This is all created on my HP laptop in iTunes, so this doesn't even involve syncing with ipods or iphones. Thanks.

You can copy the songs of a genius playlist to a new list that you can edit.

You can change the sort order of any smart or regular playlist by clicking on column headings. When the list is sorted by the left most column of numbers you are viewing the Play Order which you can manually adjust. This is the order that would be copied to any device. When sorting on some other column you can right click on the play list name and use Copy to Play Order. This can be used to enforce a particular order from which you could then make adjustments by reselecting the play order column.
