OSX 10.10.3 Mail lost all mailboxes

After update, all my mailboxes do not appear in the mailbox column. Before I had a number of mailboxes for each mail account, sent, deleted, junk, in each account and a number of mailboxes that I stored saved messages into. None of these show up in the mailboxes column any more. In fact, nothing shows in the mailboxes column. How do I get this stuff back to show up?

The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings such as On My Mac. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for Mailboxes), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The Mailboxes category can't be hidden.

In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down.

Note also that you may have to scroll the mailbox list up or down to see all of it.

Thanks Linc

My situation was that even the hidden/show buttons were not there. In fact nothing was in the column, all blank.

I did fix it by going to the window menu and selecting communication doctor. There, I selected my mailboxes and the doctor opened a new instance of mail with everything intact the way it was before the OS update.

EVerything is is as normal now.

Hi Linc....I have the same problem as Fhybr. Mail is downloading messages and I can send messages, but I cannot see any of my mail messages in the preview window since the software update. When I hover over the category headings as you suggest, I get nothing. all the triangles next to my Mail headings are already pointing down by the way. Mail continually freezes when I try to do anything to rectify the situation. Once I was able to clear this issue by a restart, but since then, multiple restarts have not corrected the problem. I have run Disk Utility and repaired permissions--twice. I tried the window menu as Fhybr suggested, but that yielded nothing. Ideas?
