In the new photos app for mac, how do i select multiple photos? for example to export to mail or facebook. I can only select one photo or if I chose all photos in a moments group.
pressing shift or cmd does not work. what to do?

Just like everywhere else in the OS:
Click to Select
Command-click to add to a selection
To select a range of contiguous items: Click on the first then hold the Shift key and Click on the last. All between will be selected.
Draw a rectangle over the items with the mouse.

I had this problem too and I figured it out: You can't select multiple photos from the sidebar in split view. You have to go back to where it says Photos under the View tab at the top. From there you can use shift or command.
I just learned that I am able to select multiple photos in the "All Photos" view after having the same trouble. I tried first by placing the just-imported photos in an album, but again I could not select multiple photos.
COMMAND-click works fine.
