Mac Mini LAN Port Problem

Hello,

I have a Mac mini i5 2.5 Ghz 4 gb RAM, with a LAN 10/100/1000 MBit/s port. When i put my Ethernet cable CAT-6 in, it wont find anything, not even that its in and i dont know what to do, like if i need to install a driver for the port or if my cable isnt for this mac.

No driver required.

Does that cable work OK on another computer?

Does Network Properties show cable unplugged?

On the the other end of the cable is the light lit by the connected port?

Try resetting the SMC and PRAM

System report under Hardware>Ethernet Cards is the ethernet hardware listed?
