Apr 10, 2015 3:51 PM in response to OGELTHORPEby Qwsx00232,"Show Desktop" function doesn't hide the programs. Let's say there are three programs open and you push the button they go away. At the time that you wanna take just one of those programs back they all coming back and I don't wanna this happen cause it becomes very confusing when I'm running several programs.

Apr 10, 2015 4:32 PM in response to Qwsx00232by spudnuty,So what I do is to use Mission Control:
Mac Basics: Use Mission Control to switch between apps or spaces - Apple Support
For instance, currently I have 5 desktops open.
1 - Chrome
2 - Safari
3 - Stickies
4 - FireFox
5- Desktop
That way I can be searching multiple things on each browser, copying info from stickies and opening files on the desktop. Sometimes I also have PhotoShop and Word open.
To move from desktop to desktop I use gestures to move from one browser to another to Word or whatever.
Using the f3 key I can see all the desktops at once and reorder them the way I want.

Apr 10, 2015 9:25 PM in response to Qwsx00232by Jayprog,The following will bring you that windows nostalgic magic of quickly going to the desktop without key combinations on Mac by just using the trackpad or mouse by pointing the pointer to one corner of the screen.
The function is inbuilt in Mac using OS X.
Open System Preferences and select Mission Control as follows;
Click Hot Corners as shown above to take you to the next screen as shown below;
Under Active Screen corners select the corner action you want to configure. I configured mine to the right bottom, so the moment I move my cursor to this part of the screen it brings my desktop immediately.
I hope this will solve your problem.

Apr 11, 2015 9:25 AM in response to Jayprogby Qwsx00232,Great. It somewhat addresses my problem but the thing is that "show desktop" function is in a way when you call one program back all the other programs are coming back as well and showing up below of the program you chose. I don't wanna this happen. At the time that I want to call back a program, I want to have just one program displayed and all the others hided.
