after the recent ios update, the keyboard spacebar gone missing when i use safari and notepad Both in my ipad2 and ipad mini. I have to tap abc/123 several times before the spacebar shows. I have done hard resets but still the same thing happens. any workaround with this? tia

I don't have this problem. you say you have the 123 / ABC button but not the space bar on the same line. About the only thing I can suggest is a restore of your iPad to see if there was a problem with the update

I can confirm this problem also on an iPad2. In Landscape mode, the spacebar is pushed off the screen to the bottom, imagine it as if it was on a 5th row of the keyboard. If I turn the iPad to portrait mode, the spacebar goes to its correct position. If I then turn the iPad back to landscape mode, the spacebar goes in its correct position. Clearly a bug!
I did a restore on both my ipad2 and mini. updated to ios 8.3 as well. Ipad mini is ok but my ipad2 still having this keyboard problem. The spacebar does not show. It is just blank gray until i press the 123/abc button, then the soacebar pops out and functional.
I'm having the same glitch with my Ipad keyboard space bar, and I hope Apple is going to fix this soon.
Still having the same issue both ipad 2 and mini. now, only part of the keyboard shows when using the search in appstore. Already did hard reset and restore several times but still the same problem.

I know one device is now working, however still going to ask this question. The device that which still has the missing spacebar on the keyboard when you restored it, did you set up as new or right away restore from a backup?
I did both. Restore from back up, same result. Set up as new, same result. Guess this is a glitch that would be corrected on the next ios update. 😟
Have you tried undocking then docking the keyboard? Hold down the keyboard icon (bottom right corner) until the menu appears, select dock then undock.
You could also try downloading a third party keyboard, switching to it then switching back to iOS's native keyboard.

I'm also having this issue on my Ipad 4 after the 8.3 update. This combined with the overall slowdown has made the device quite unpleasant to use.
SIgh.... Already on ios 8.4.1 still missing the spacebar on the keyboards of my ipad and mini. Both units already did resets and other workaround recommendations but same problem arises.
Guess apple has no action regarding this matter. The consumer is left with a choice. Suck it up or buy a newer model. Tsk tsk.
