Q: Yosemite calculator broken

Hi,

When I run the calculator app it launches but the window does not appear. I can open the paper tape window but when I close that or select anything from the menu bar the app quits. In the console I get these lines:

10/04/2015 22:17:18.876 Calculator[781]: Failed to connect (_YToTheXButton) outlet from (BasicAdvancedController) to (NSButton): missing setter or instance variable

10/04/2015 22:17:18.879 Calculator[781]: *** -[__NSPlaceholderArray initWithObjects:count:]: attempt to insert nil object from objects[0]

Looks like I've got a duff version of the app. Anybody know how to get a working calculator app?

Cheers,

Fatty

    Hi Mario,

Yup, the App is broken and cannot be deleted from the Applications folder or overwritten as it claims to be essential to the o/s (shades of Windows' IE...). Thanks for the link, lots of information there, but the thought of re-installing again broke this camel's back. However I've sort of fixed it by air-dropping the calculator from my yosemite macbook to my local Apps folder on my mini where it works just fine.

Thanks for your help and apologies for such a late reply.

    Cheers,

    Fatty
