stuck in preparing iphone for restore on computer

I thought I was just updating my iphone 5c ... Then it got stuck on the apple symbol? Then some how I ended up with an apple symbol and the itunes and plug in.. So I have hooked it up to my computer... and now it says preparing iphone for restore? it says itunes is restoring soft ware on iphone... But I think it gets stuck there because I can't get it off that spot?
