Thanks for answering my previous question re using USB and portable hard drive. How about a thumb drive? Can I use that to import photos off the thumb drive and to export photos to the thumb drive? This is for my iPad air 2

You might with a few but you will need the camera connection kit. I don't think it's available for your iPad model.
I already have the lightning adaptor where I insert the camera's little storage disk. That works well so I can download from the card to the iPad okay. I want to then be able to download from the iPad using a USB adaptor to the thumb drive. I guess I'll just have to buy one to find out!
If I use a lightning cable with USB can I upload and download photos onto a thumb drive?
