Apple Remote Desktop password

I have forgotten the password required under the preferences security section of ARD.

It asks for the old password and then to enter a new password. Can anyone please assist?

Thanks.

Open your Applications folder and go to utilities. Open Keychain Access. Click on "login" at the left and then search for "remote" in the top right.

A keychain entry called "Apple Remote Desktop" should appear in the list.

Double-Click on that entry and check the box titled "Show password:"

The computer will ask you to authenticate with your user login password (the one you use to log in when you restart the computer)

If entered correctly, your Remote Desktop password will appear. You no longer need to reset it within the Application.
