No, you can't remove Photos but you can just ignore it and use iPhoto instead.

Did Photos convert your library already?  If it did restore the library from the backup made just prior to upgrading to 10.10.3, launch iPhoto and open the restored library.  From then on just use iPhoto.  You can also remove Photos from the Dock.

Drag the Photos icon off of the dock, Drag the iPhoto icon to the dock, do NOT uninstall Photos, just don't use it.

You can't remove Photos from the hard drive.  It's part of the System and you won't be allowed to do so.

Nothing is converted between iPhoto and Photos.  iPhoto is not deleted and the iPhoto Library is not deleted or modified.  If you choose to use iPhoto, then ignore Photos and restore the iPhoto dock icon by dragging the application back to the dock.  iPhoto will continue to work fine, but Apple will no longer be updating it.  You cannot delete Photos because it is now part of OS X.

it appears that my library has been converted.  First indicator is that the library file name has changed to "iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary".  Second, when I open with iPhoto I get a prompt that the photos have been migrated and that no changes, edits, or new photos added to iPhoto will be added to Photos.  Did the OS X upgrade create a backup of my library as I did not deliberately make one?  Is there any hope for restoring my iPhoto Library and full functionality of iPhoto.

the Photos application might be for some but it's not for me.  I have extensive Smart albums the criteria for which did not port over.  New Smart albums I create with two simple criteria don't work.  Criteria being date range and "Favorite".  Edits I make in Photos, specifically Adjustments, are not being reflected on screen nor is there any copy of the file that I can see.  Batch change functionality is lost and I used that extensively after importing photos from a shoot.

The reason I found Photos attractive in the first place, sharing on the iCloud, is a disappointment.  The performance is slow, the To field (persons you want to share with) is clunky (why not just pop-up Contacts?), and worst of all any user I want to share with has to be an Apple Photos user which is not apparent in the marketing collateral.

    Any help would be appreciated
