Apr 23, 2015 7:46 PM in response to Csound1by Jay Warner1,Good advice, if I had thought of it first. BUT, theTM back up material was on a drive that was no longer in the TM backup stream - totally unrelated. Plus, I have already moved it to the trash. It deleted from the external drive fine. But it remains in the Trash folder, unrepentant & unremoved. Is there a way to firmly tell the Trash - delete everything & forget it? Clear the file address from memory, making it available again for other things?

Depending on the size of the files in the trash, this space could be quite substantial.
FYI: You should change your signature.
You don't have a PowerMac running Mavericks.
