    Hello tk5532,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

From your post I understand that the AirPlay icon is not appearing in your Control Center after updating to iOS 8.3.  To help resolve this issue I'd like you to please follow the directions below.

If you don't see AirPlay in Control Center

When an AirPlay-enabled device is available, you'll see AirPlay in Control Center on your iOS device.

If you don't, try these steps:

    1. Restart your iOS device and Apple TV.
    2. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
On your Apple TV, go to Settings > General > Network. If your Apple TV is connected using Ethernet, make sure that it’s plugged in to the router you're using for Wi-Fi.
    3. On your Apple TV, make sure that AirPlay is turned on. Go to Settings > AirPlay.

    Have a good one,

the airplay icon only show up if the wifi network because it does not work across the Internet have a turned on appletv or airplay express on it

and if the airplay express or appletv is currently connected to another device airplay also don't show up

In my case, iphone and apple tv are connected to the same wifi network. Wifi works as I can navigate with iphone and watch apple tv channels. No other devices are connected. Still, airplay icon does not show up.

Unfortunately, I have not managed to solve the issue.

I also updated the iPad and airplay stopped working (same issue as the iphone). So I strongly suggest you to avoid updating IOS in your ipad.

If anybody has solved thisporblem, please share.

    Thanks

    Hi

I have contacted Apple Support and spoke to a great person. He was not aware of the issue and has tried to help through a reset.

It did not work, so I am no further forward.

The Apple Support person will call me for an update tomorrow

    HI All

i had an excellent call with the Apple support team. We have managed to restore the Air Drop on my iPad. The process was not too difficult.

    1. Back up the offending machine on iCloud

    2. Connect the offending machine to a computer and carry out a complete back up

    3. Turn off find my iPhone

    4. Carry out a complete restore that puts the offending machine to the latest software and factory settings

    5. Reload the latest back up

after 12 hours the air drop was returned and now is working really well.

the team at Apple were not sure what happened, however, phoned me back 24hrs later to check.

if you are unsure about doing this yourself, do phone the team...

Are you talking about Airplay or Airdrop?  The question on this thread is Airplay but you say in your post AirDrop.  I'm also having the issue with AirPlay but I don't want to go through all the restore stuff if your solution is for AirDrop instead of AirPlay.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

now you have got me. I kept discussing AirPlay with the Apple team, they called it AirDrop. If you are a layman like me, it is Airplay and it brought it back.

    All the best
