Q: iOS calendar: inconsistent syncing with iCloud

I can't trust my iPhone calendar any more!

 

iPhone 4

iOS 7.1.2

 

I set up iPhone and MacBook Pro calendars to sync with iCloud.I just discovered that some calendar items that are on iCloud and my laptop are not showing up on my iPhone (obviously the easier place to check my calendar -- this includes looking into the past to confirm that I met someone).

 

I now have to double-check anything that I originate on the iPhone to make sure that it's registering -- and definitely there are weeks where anything I originated on my laptop are just not showing up in my iPhone.


I did a backup through iCloud and that did not correct the problem of the missing appointments.

 

I've been to iCloud troubleshooting and nothing there led me to correct this problem either.

 

My calendar is the lifeline of my business, so we're not talking play dates here!  Any help will be appreciated!

    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like calendar event are not showing up on the iOS device. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

     

    Get help using iCloud Calendar - Apple Support

    changes that you make to a calendar might not appear on all of your devices.

    Thanks Mario, that link presumes it's an iCloud problem -- but I don't think that's the case because my laptop is syncing fine with iCloud and vice versa.  Only the iPhone is inconsistent.   I actually rarely go to iCloud and prefer accessing my calendar on my laptop, where I can use a keyboard.  When I found out what was happening, I did some test appointments, iCloud and laptop are sync'd fine -- phone is not.
