OS X 10.10.3 & QuickTime 10.4 - 2x Speed - No Audio

On my MacBook Pro 13-inch, Mid 2012, after updating to OS X 10.10.3, I have lost the audio when playing 2x speed in QuickTime 10.4. Any possible solutions to this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I ve got same problem at normal speed too and that affects iphoto wich uses quicktime for playng videos. Have picture but no sound. these movies play with sound in VLC... so they are not broken. I talk about .mov movies imported from my camera.

I am on Yosemite 10.10.2 !!! and QT 10.4

Experiencing the same. I did find that I can work around the problem (somewhat) by holding the Option key while pressing the >> button, which increases the speed in 1/10 increments. I can get up to 1.9x speed and still have audio, but once I hit 2x it goes away. Hope that helps some of you in the short term.

Had this same issue, and it is too inconvenient to option up to 1.9x speed every time while trying to watch a lecture I am taking notes on. I ended up downloading VLC media player and it allows me to stay at 2x speed without ever changing.
