iTunes can`t verify the identity of the server “init.itunes.apple.com”.

Hi,

I updated to iTunes 12.1.2

At the same time I updated to Safari 7.1.5 and installed the Security Update 2015-004.

I`m on Mavericks. System time and date are correct. In the system root certificates I have no error messages.

Now when I start iTunes I get the following error. Any ideas?

Thanks

Stefan

iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “itunesu.itunes.apple.com”.

The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “itunesu.itunes.apple.com”, which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

I have exactly the same issue here.

I tried to press connect anyway, then another 8 messages with the same issue showed up, just with different addresses:

init.itunes.apple.com

xp.apple.com

p12-buy.itunes.apple.com

itunes.apple.com

upp.itunes.apple.com

bookkeeper.itunes.apple.com

pd-st.itunes.apple.com

I already tried to manually install itunes with the latest version, but this did not solve the problem.

Due to this issue, I am also not able to use the AppStore anymore.

A quick solution would be appreciated.

Thanks

Same issue here, after updating to the latest patches for Safari, iTunes 12.1.2 and Security Update 2015-004, I am experiencing the same errors about the iTunes security certificates.

@Pacific_Str my software setup is the same as yours (running in iMac mid 2011)

@101DM101same errors for me, I tried to empty the iTunes cache but it is still not working

In addition to this, the APP STORE is not working as it should, take a look at this screenshot :

@101DM101: I also have the message for the different servers.

I found older messages with similar problems, but none of the proposed solutions helped.

I think it is either a problem that iTunes can not connect to the keystore to check the cerificates or some problem with the security update.

I also reinstalled iTunes from the Apple website.

I also tried to restore the older version of iTunes from my time machine, but OS X would not let me to delete iTunes.
