cannot get past blue screen - want to delete data
I cannot turn eMac on - freezes at blue screen.
I wish to delete info on hard drive and then scrap eMac
For someone with the necessary expertise (opening an all-in-one Mac can be dangerous), it is possible to remove the hard drive. The hard drive could then be immediately destroyed (sledge hammer), or connected to another computer via a USB-to-ATA adapter (the device at http://www.newertech.com/products/usb3_universaldriveadap.php is one example; similar adapters can be found in many local computer stores) and read/wiped there.
