Is there a way to do batch changes in Photos (like we could in iPhoto)?

I made heavy use of the Batch change command in iPhoto.

Now that I'm in Photos, how can I get the same results?

Specifically the Batch change of title....

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Hey Léonie .. I haven't a clue when it comes to Apple Scripts etc, so I'll try not to confuse the heck out of you.. 😉 This script to batch change Descriptions works flawlessly, so thanks! Instead of batch changing the text to something new, however, I want to remove the description text entirely (so set it to blank, if you will). I've played around with the script in Automator to see if I could figure it out on my own, but being a total noob, I've kept running into errors when I try to run it in the Photos app.

Is it possible? And if so, would you mind helping me out with the script?? The description field is useless to me (and annoying every time it pops up when entering a matching search word), so I just want to remove the info completely. The function was available in iPhoto, but somehow this is applicable to newer photos I'm adding to my library.

Anything you can advise would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I appreciate your comment, but should's and would's don't help me.

That's why it took so long for me to get it to work.

I started out using selected photos in the Last Import folder. They never worked there for me.

I did try a "New" photos library, and they did work there, but I don't recall which folder I used.

But with nearly 33000 photos, I didn't want to reload my whole library.

It wasn't until I tried in "All Photos" as suggested by leonie, did I get it to work.

But I just gave it another try. On three different albums, and three additional smart albums, I gave it another go.

All six tries failed. For me, the script only works in the "All Photos" folder....

I have also extended the script, by cloning it twice for Setting/appending text to the description.

They both run fine, as long as I select photos in the "All Photos" folder....

I would have expected more consistent results for a product from Apple. It appears Photos is just too new.

Actually, I just found out that you can, but it's done differently..... have all the photos which you want to change showing, and select them all .. then do a 'get info', the info box that shows up will apply to all the selected photos. Make the change you want in that info box, and it will apply to all the selected photos. An Apple tech support person just told me about that feature.
