If You got a Data-DVD (not Video/Movie-DVD as commersial movies) then the kind of video format used matters.
VIDEO-CODEC - open the movie file in QuickTime-player or VLC and then open Inspector (cmd+I) and read
Video formatted ( CODEC ) : nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Frames per second : YY.yy
What does it read ?
