Itunes store has stopped working On windows 8

with the most recent update of iTunes (2015, 12.1.1.4- or even later) The iTunes store has stopped working. Every time I open it a window pops up saying "ITunes has stopped working" and then I am forced to close the program and can't get back on it. I own a PC with windows 8. Previously I've never had this issue before. Even when I open ITunes in SAFE MODE the same window still pops up with "ITunes has stopped working'. What is happening and how can I fix this issue?

As someone who uses iTunes just about every day, I know I would be unhappy with things if I could not get it to launch. Let's see if we can get you back up and running. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
