Error while restoring iPhone 6 from itunes on a MAC

I backed up my iPhone 6 on my iTunes on Mac Book.

I restored the iPhone and got a message that iTunes couldn't complete the restore either the backup is corrupt or iTunes is not compatible.

I searched for updates and updated iTunes to 12.1.2 and tried to backup and same error message.

Restarted the MacBook and phone multiple times and no go.
