I have recently updated to 10.10.3. I am now getting the error "The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)" whenever I open the Mac App Store and click the 'Updates' tab.
Anyone else seeing this?

You may have installed "Avast."
"Avast" is the worst of the whole wretched lot of commercial "security" products for the Mac. Not only does it fail to protect you from any real danger, it may send personal data (such as web browsing history and the contents of email messages) back to the developer without your knowledge, give false warnings, destabilize and slow down the computer, expose you to network attack, and corrupt the network settings and the permissions of files in your home folder. Removing it may not repair all the damage.
Some versions of the product also inject advertising into web pages. In short, apart from the fine print in the license agreement, Avast is indistinguishable from malware, and is arguably worse than any known malware now in circulation.
Back up all data, then remove Avast according to the developer's instructions. Restart.
If you tried to remove Avast by dragging an application to the Trash, you'll have to reinstall it and then follow the instructions linked above.
I have the same problem, too.
I updated yesterday to 10.10.3 and since then, I always receive the 1012 error after searching for updates in the AppStore.
I do not have any anti-virus protection installed on my system.
In the keychain, all certifcates are still valid.
I already googled a lot and I did not find a solution that is working for me. Any help would be appreciated.
Update:
According to install.log, there seems to be a certificate problem. I see the following error:
Apr 13 19:41:14 SWMAC.fritz.box softwareupdated[273]: Failed Software Update - Refusing invalid certificate from host: swscan.apple.com
As already said, keychain does not show me invalid certificates and calling https://swscan.apple.com from firefox and safari does not result in certificate problems.
Same here. I am also getting invalid certificate from host swscan.apple.com.

I desperately waited for the 10.10.3 update because I still faced severe WLAN connection problems with the 10.10.2 version.
Now, my WLAN problems seem to be gone but I cannot install any updates anymore. This is very frustrating...
I did this to 'resolve' my problem. Open up "Keychain Access" from Spotlight Search, on the top-left, click on "System" (not System Roots), select the bottom two "Verisign" certificates, right click and delete. You will be prompted for your password. Enter password and confirm. Restart.
For me, those two Certificates are already under "System Roots" but for some reason are duplicated under "System" and that somehow causes a conflict.
The deletion of the 2 Verisign certificates under System also worked for me (at least no error popup occurs and I do not see any errors in install.log)!
As there seem to be no updates available at the moment, lets wait if everything works when there should be updates available again.

this worked fine for me as well, I can now see the new updates as expected, and they install as well! After searching around the internet already for some time (not finding anything useful, only rather old issues with other causes, but the same error message), this really helped!

Thanks, I had the same issue and found one duplicated Verisign in System. Removing it solved ASAP the issue.
...deleting all the "verisigns" in login worked for me.

I don't have those files in mentioned location! But I do have under the "System Roots" but that does not allow me to delete.
