iMessgaes won't send!

iMessage ahs suddenly stopped sending messages and keeps asking me to log in. The imessages Jabber seems to be the problem and is run by google.talk. After having researched others' problem, I checked my Google account and found that my Allow Insecure apps was On and the 2 step verification was off. So there should not e a problem. That is unless google.talk has been binned. If so what app do I use instead?

Please help.
