circuit board

I own iPhone 5 that has recently died. iDigital store conducted a workup, and their replay was:

"Unable to be fixed. There is a short circuit in the circuit board which causes the battery to discharge too quickly".

The device was purchased before a year and a half, meaning it doesn't have warranty.

Nevertheless, can anything be done to fix it?

If iDigital is an Apple authorized iPhone service provider, you should be eligible

for an out of warranty replacement iPhone 5 at $269 USD (adjust for your location).

If iDigital is not an authorized iPhone service provider, you will need to purchase

a new iPhone of your choice at full retail price.

There are no user serviceable parts in an iPhone nor does Apple sell replacement

parts.

If the iPhone was originally purchased in Israel. iDigital should have offered

you Out of Warranty replacement.

If the iPhone was originally purchased in another country, warranty and reduced

price Out of Warranty replacement are valid only in that country (EU is considered

one country for this purpose).

Where was the iPhone originally purchased?

Wow, you're very helpful, thank you!

The iPhone was originally purchased in Israel, not at iDigital, but at a carrier (which is of coursre another Apple authorised service provider).

I prefered iDigital would perform the workup because they are unbiased, nevertheless according to what you're saying I need to go to the company who sold me the device.

The other company says they can fix the circuit board and by that solve the problem. Does it make sense to fix the circuit board of an iPhone? would you do that? and does it worth it?

What I said was that if the iPhone was purchased in another country, warranty

would be valid only in that country.

Israeli law and wireless contract will govern whether iDigital will repair an iPhone puchased

from a different Israeli company. What did iDigital say when you

asked then to do the repair? Apple does not repair iPhones (other than screen replacements

on some locations). I do not know what happens in Israel at an Apple authorized

iPhone service provider, but would assume the same would be the case. However,

I could be wrong.

Not even Apple "fixes " circuit boards in the field

All faulty iPhones are returned to the Chinese Factory for complete rebuild and then they become Service Stock

This includes Warranty returns and also Out of Warranty service returns

The only service currently done in the fied and always at Apple Stores in selected Countries is glass replacement and battery replacement

ALL other issues go back to the factory

There is NO availability of Apple parts anywhere
