Apr 13, 2015 12:50 PM in response to mercyejisby King_Penguin,If you've downloaded the iOS firmware update file for your device, then on a windows machine it should be stored under :
XP : \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\
Vista, 7, and I think 8 : \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\
Under that directory there should be 'software updates' directory e.g. 'iPhone Software Updates' if it's for an iPhone.
You may have to tell windows explorer to show hidden directories/files to see it.
To install it, in your computer's iTunes press and hold the shift key when clicking the Check For Updates button, that should let you navigate to the downloaded file.
