I have an empty visa gift card as part of my billing information- now I can't download free apps from the app store! HELP!

Hey guys-

I recently got a Visa Gift Card for my birthday (18- woohoo!) I decided to use it as billing information to purchase off the app store, and all was well. A few weeks later, I emptied the card and now I can't remove it from the billing info. Also, this prevents me from using the app store to download free apps! When I contacted apple, they said I had "unpaid transactions" although I paid for everything. I don't get it, but help would be greatly appreciated!

If you're in the USA, it would be hard to zero balance a gift card just with purchases as there are sales taxes in most areas that you don't know the amount of until the purchase is complete. My guess is that the issue is with the last purchase, there wasn't enough credit left on the card to cover the sales tax.
