Motion 5.2 does not open properly. The opening screen freezes after a few seconds. Anybody got some hints ?
Have you tried resetting Motion?
While launching Motion, hold the command+option keys down. A dialog should appear asking if you want to reset the application.

So Motion hangs as soon as the project browser comes up, or when you select a project and click Öffnen?
Do you have any other plug-ins installed?
Most likely you have a corrupt font cache.
In order to repair it open Terminal.app (in Utilities inside Applications) and use these commands.
atsutil databases -removeUser
This will remove the current user's font cache.
If you want to delete the font cache for all users, use this command followed by giving your admin password:
sudo atsutil databases -remove
The password won't show up but will be accepted.
Now stop the ATS server:
atsutil server -shutdown
Then restart it:
atsutil server -ping
Quit and restart all running applications in order to avoid font confusion or make a system restart.
Hi bambule. Thanks for your help. The font cache was alright. But my iMac refused to work with Motion 5.2 at all. After a 5 hour phone talk with an Apple pro technician ("I have never seen such a bug before ") we decided to do a system recovery. Fair enough. Thanks again for your time.
