my computer recignizes my pixma 6000, but won't print, help

i have checked for drivers on the cannon wed site and was told there is no driver for my mac. the printer is recognized by the computer and is listed as hardware but won't print. Any suggestions ????

iMac, Mac OS X (10.2.x)

There is nothing you can do if there is no printer driver available.

You can check Gutenprint Supported Printers for a driver if they have one.
