Can't share files with bootcamp partition form VMWare.

I am using VMWare fusion 7 on OSX Yosemite with Windows 8 on my bootcamp partition. The problem is when I try to share files with either a shared folder or by drag and drop the file only seems to be referenced to my Mac partition. When I am only using my Windows partition I am not able to access the files I have copy pasted from the shared folder or the files I have drag and dropped. While I have been able to with VMWare fusion 6 on OSX Maverick with Windows 7 as bootcamp.

You need to check if VMware 7 supports read-write operations for Yosemite Core Storage volumes.

Please also see windows 8 does not recognise Macintosh HD, No drive Letter, which is related.

Please post the output of the following Terminal command.

diskutil cs list

VMware uses a variant of HGFS for sharing folders. You may want to ask VMware Tech support, if they support it.

As a test, if you have a USB stick, format it as an HFS+ filesystem using Disk Utility. Connect it, and share it to the Windows side. Now copy a file from Windows to this USB stick.

I am able to use the files in Windows with VMWare but I can't reach them with just windows. Even if copied to a local folder in Windows and same counts for the other way around.
