I just brought a refurbished ipod 4th gen from apple and I'm now being told that I can't get snapchat or hardly anything else because it has to have IOS7?? And it won't run IOS7?? Ugh. Is there anyway to get it to update to ios 7 or no?

Sorry but the iPod touch 4 generation doesn't support IOS 7, only up to IOS 6.1.6.

See if you can get the last version of SnapChat compatible with iOS 6 by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
