My old phone got destroyed a couple days ago so replaced it with a new one today but I cant restore it from a recent icloud back up as it says its from 8.2 where as my new phones 8.3? any advice on how to do it seeing as I cant downgrade to IOS 8.2.

no. googled a few things but they wanted you to download IOS 8.2 seperately and I didnt want to - it was on some dodgy looking sites and I didnt want to risk my new phone. was hoping for some help on here but no joy......
You should have no issue restoring a backup made on iOS 8.2 to an iPhone running iOS 8.3
Do you get any error messages whey try to do this?
they were just not highlighted (grey as opposed to black which were the ones I could use) and I wasnt able to click on them to restore - it did say something about unable to restore due to being from an older IOS (or maybe device I cant 100% remember and it was an iphone 5).
I could restore from an earlier IOS from a hard back up on my computer - just not from icloud

I have the same issue but I think that my old phone has IOS 8.3 but my new phone is an older version but I can't update it because it is just starting up
Set the new phone up as new, and update to iOS 8.3 when you are done.
After that you can restore the new iPhone, and it will keep the new iOS version, and you should be able to restore from a backup.

I got it thanks, set up replaced phone as new phone then I updated the software, then I erased phone and restarted . It works!
