Q: photos won't import from iPhoto to photos app

I keep getting errors while trying to import my photos into the new photos app for Yosemite.  Any work arounds?

Are you trying to use the Import menu item?

 

Photos should load your iPhoto library directly, no need to import the library.

 

Try holding down the Option key and launching Photos, it should ask you to select the library to use.

    Thanks Tom,

     

    For some reason I had two libraries when i opened photos and imported the incorrect one, so I was importing from that point.  I saw a post where someone said to export iphoto library then drag into photos, and am currently trying that.  I'll let you know how it goes.
