Q: What happens if I turn off iCloud Drive?

I upgraded my iPhoto app to the new Photos app, and I turned on iCloud Drive. I have 18,000 photos in my iPhoto library, and I now realize that is way too many to work with easily on my iPhone 6. What would happen if I turn off iCloud Drive? Would I then be able to re-download my much smaller library of photos manually to the iPhone? Not sure how that would work.

If all your photos are stored in your iPhoto Library, then you can directly access them. iCloud Drive does not contain you photos unless you copy the library to it (not recommended because you have to pay for space on iCloud Drive once you exceed your free 5 GBs.)
