i was on my ipod and i accidentally synced a photo, i went to my computer and removed it, but i didnt get the data back. AND IT TOOK UP 4 GIGS. i was forced to restore my ipod and put everything back on it
Something went awry when you accidentally synced that photo and it ended up as a corrupted file on your Nano. You found the right solution.

The average size for a digital photograph is about 3MB. If after synchronizing your iPod with iTunes after you had told it to no longer sync your photos then I would recommend restoring the device and only synchronizing the media you want back on the device.
Unless you manually copied the pictures to the Nano for storage purposes pictures synced to a Nano are much, much smaller than 3MB given the small screen they have to fill.
