Podcast This episode is currently unavailable from

My wife and I both have iPhone 6's and share the same iTunes library stored on an iMac. Occasionally and randomly, certain podcast episodes will not play. The message "This episode is currently unavailable from (Podcast name)" pops up. We both have Use Cellular Data turned on in settings. iTunes Match is NOT turned on. I can't figure out how to overcome this random unavailability.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3

Does that message persist for days on end for a specific podcast? Is it possible the podcast really isn't available (perhaps a down server) at times?

Yes, it persists. No, the podcasts are available and the server is not down. These are "subscribed" podcasts through iTunes and nationally popular ones like This American Life and The Tony Kornheiser Show.
