You need to be much more specific then that. What web site and where is your downloads folder located? If the download folder is currently located on the internal HD, reset it to temporarily point to the EHD and download the pictures to that folder. If you use Safari as your browser open Safari - Preferences and change the download location. Once you have finished the job reset the download location to the original location.

if you right click an image you get a context menu with "save image as..." if you pick that you get to choose where you wish the image downloaded to

you can also use the free Picasa app and use it's preferences to choose where it store it's images

See if Command A selects all or them.

If they are in a subordinate folder - then copy the folder to the new destination.

Verify source & destination are identical before removing the ones in document folder.

Back them up to other media before any editing.

Maybe a Time Machine backup as well.

And read the driver's manual.
