Q: Do I need to import photo stream into photos app?

I am planning to use photos.app with just photo stream, and not iCloud photo library.  I presume that my photos on my iPhone will just automatically transfer to photos on my Mac, Is this correct? or do I have to import the pictures from photo stream?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

When you enable My Photo Stream in the Preferences > iCloud, it will automatically import the photos streamed form your devices.  But it will automatically upload all new photos from your Photos Library as well to My Photo Stream, You can no longer have automatic download without automatic upload.

My Photo Stream is not loading into Photos, but before migration photos I took on my iphone would instamtly appear in iPhoto.  In my Photos file I now have two photo libraries: an iPhotos migrated Library as well as a Photos library.  I'm wondering if iCloud is still only associating the Photo stream with iPhoto, but I'm afraid to open iPhoto to check for fear of throwing my huge library out of sync.  Any suggestions?

Also there are no photos in all my iphoto albums and I lost my millions of keywords :-(

In my Photos file I now have two photo libraries: an iPhotos migrated Library as well as a Photos library.

The second library does not need much extra space, even if it looks the same size your iphoto library: Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support

Your iPhoto Library will still work. Make a test by double-clicking the iPhoto.app in your Applications folder. You will see that your iphoto Library has been migrated to Photos. Just click the the button "Open iPhoto" and you old iphoto Library should open again. Check the Preferences panel > iCloud in iPhoto, if Photo Stream is still enabled and look at the stream to see, if the photos have synced to your iPhoto Library.

The iPhone will only start the upload My Photo Photo stream to iCloud, after you close the Camera.app.

Also there are no photos in all my iphoto albums and I lost my millions of keywords :-(

Are the albums regular albums or smart albums? Not all smart albums can migrate, see this link:
